King of Wrath

Main Couple: Dante and Vivian
The Story: Vivian and Dante are coerced into marriage, him through blackmail and her through familial expectations. Dante tries to keep Vivian at arms length while he figures way to get back at her father and escape the engagement. But will the time together make them realize this sham of a relationship could be hiding something real?
The Sex: I love some good angry, tension filled, hate fucking. Boy does Ana Huang deliver! These two have INCREDIBLE chemistry. It plays out so beautifully. They hate that they want each other, and then when they finally snap Dante takes it as his personal mission to show Vivian how much she wants him too. The library! As someone who loves books, I can’t deny the small taboo of getting finger fucked in a library is appealing. There’s no overt D/s in this book, but Dante definitely likes to be in charge in the bedroom. It takes them a while, and some well orchestrated drama, to finally have penetrative sex, but once the seal is broken the floodgates open! One of the more scintillating themes is the amount of semi-public sex they have: a library, the back of a limo, a garden. Sounds almost kink like to me… Dante is very conscious about making sure Vivian orgasms during their encounters. Usually, she gets a couple in there. Lucky girl.
Favorite Lines:
“My body had never reacted so viscerally to anyone before, and I didn’t even fucking like her.” Chapter 6 When I read this line, my whole soul got ready for some good tension.
“The library’s hushed silence picked beneath the weight of the gathering tension. It hissed and spaced like crackles of electricity, barreling down my spine and lighting up my blood.” Chapter 13 This. Scene!! I usually find sex in a library cliche, but this one was HOT! It was a hate/want finger bang.
“Like they were a conqueror hell-bent on breaching my defenses. Like they were trapped in the desert and I was their last hope for salvation.” Chapter 24 What a way to describe the kiss that finally breaks the tension/feelings for real.
“‘You like this?’ he taunted. ‘Watching me wreck you pussy while you make a mess all over my cock?” Chapter 24 That’s some good dirty talk.
“Her body fit mine the way the ocean hugged the shore- naturally, effortlessly, perfectly.” Chapter 31 I know he’s describing her vagina, but I’m okay with that.
“Tell me what you want, Vivian. Do you want me on my knees?” Chapter 40 Double meaning! He’s apologizing for the scheme and asking to devour her pussy.
Least Favorite Lines:
“I was so wet he slid in without much resistance,” Chapter 24 When I read this, I literally wrote in the margin “Then is he really that big?” The description of crazy large dicks annoys me, because they would hurt, and yet they never seem to.
“I’d taken him as far as I could, and there was still a good two inches between my mouth and the top of my stacked fists.” Chapter 27 Again, this dick is too big. Or her mouth and hands are tiny.
Final Thoughts:
This was such a fun read. The tension was delicious. I wonder if I liked this more because it was two adults, and Twisted Love was an adult and college student. There’s something really fun about how this story plays out. Watching Dante fight tooth and nail against his attraction to Vivian was delightful. Vivian get’s blindsided by the whole double cross by her father. It’s almost sad how okay she was with the arranged marriage aspect, but through the book she learns to be her authentic self with her parents. My biggest problem with his book is how his dick is described as alarmingly big, and yet Vivian is totally fine taking a 12 inch dick rough as hell. Nope.
Spice Level: 3/5
Kinks Explored: Nothing is explicitly stated as a kink
Voices Heard: Vivian is Chinese. There are a lot of conversations about her cultural experience. There are a few other AAPI characters in the story.
Did I like it? I was not expecting to enjoy this. This changed it for me. I’m very curious to read the rest of the books in her series.
